God’s Work. Our Hands.

  • Atonement Lutheran Church S70W16244 Martin Drive Muskego, WI, 53150 United States (map)

September is the month for “God’s Work, Our Hands” in the ELCA Lutheran Church. At Atonement, we will be offering several ways that you can participate.

Street Angels is a Milwaukee organization that helps homeless people. Volunteer to help make blankets on Sunday, September 28th from 9-11am in the Fellowship Hall. Please sign up for 30 minute time slots.

Hunger Task Force has long been providing food for food banks. “The Farm” in Franklin raises fresh vegetables to add to the canned and boxed food. It’s so important to eat some healthy fresh vegetables and fruits. HTF has an “Adopt a Crop” program where you can donate money to support a certain vegetable crop. Look for a “garden” of vegetable envelopes on a stick and more information in the Narthex during the whole month of September, or give online. Money raised will be sent to the Hunger Task Force Adopt-a-Crop program to plant crops the following spring.

Work at the fabulous All People’s Garden. We will carpool from church at 9:30am on Sunday, October 5th, working from 10am to 12pm, OR on Sunday, October 12th, meet at church at 10:30am and work from 11am to 1pm. It’s worth it just to see the beautiful garden of raised vegetable beds, fruit trees, berry bushes, a unique watering method, and a farm stand where they offer vegetables and fruits grown at All People’s, and donated throughout the year by other organizations. In the fall, they need some hands to pick and clean up the space. We could use your help!

Sign up HERE or in the Narthex.
